About the role:
Knauf is seeking a passionate, experienced, and reliable Business Development Manager to join our ambitious Sales team. This role reports to the General Manager - Regional VIC / TAS and will be based in our brand new store located in Ballarat, VIC.
This role will focus on Customer Management within the Residential Housing Segment across the Melbourne Metropolitan Region, to ensure segment sales & profitability are met in line with targets and customer satisfaction levels are maintained. Customer management will include both Residential & Commercial Housing Builders and Key Residential Housing Contractors.
Role responsibilities:
- Ensure business transactions are conducted in a legal and professional manner with strong ethical, safety and compliance standards
- Undertake sales activities within the segment / region to achieve and exceed budgeted targets and take corrective action as required, whilst exceeding customer expectations
- Contribute to the development of the segment and customer strategy and plans, to protect current business and win new business whilst identifying opportunities for value added products and services through account plan management
- Develop strong multilevel relationships with targeted customers and segment decision makers whilst providing outstanding customer service to ensure a supplier of choice position
- Ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the sales cycle as well as customer accounts are managed to an acceptable debtor level
- Maintain and report knowledge of market trends, competitor activities and competitor product development
- Ensure appropriate reporting and recording of sales activities via reports and CRM
Candidate requirements
- Superior written and verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to speak, present and lead discussions with customers along with providing product training to a customer group
- Self-motivated, driven, enthusiastic and resilient with the ability to operate autonomously
- Basic competency in Word, Excel and Power point
- SAP & CRM Salesforce experience and knowledge preferred
- A minimum of 3 years external sales experience
- Building industry knowledge and experience preferred but not essential
- Established industry contacts in the Plasterboard industry preferred but not essential
- Safety mindset and can do attitude
