Knauf is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join their NSW/ACT operations. The successful applicant will report into the National HSE Manager and be responsible for providing specialist advice and solutions on matters concerning health, safety and environment (HSE) and ensuring compliance to minimum safety standards in the NSW/ACT region. There will also be exposure to work on national and APAC projects to drive our zero-harm culture.

Based in Camellia NSW, the successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Leading the implementation of the HSE plan across the NSW region and identifying regional safety opportunities and initiatives
- Coaching and mentoring managers and leaders across the variety of business units to fulfil the requirements of the HSE plan and behaviour-based safety
- Provide functional advice and direction to the regional, national and global team regarding HSE matters
- Provide functional advice and direction to local and operational management within the business, promoting systemic alignment with regional and national HSE initiatives
- Assist and manage compliance with the Safety Management System and performance indicators
- Provide insights from statistical data for each business unit and provide advice on remedial activity and submit monthly activity reports to the National HSE Manager
- Facilitate two-way communication, feedback and interaction between employees and managers
- Facilitate and participate in high level incident investigation and risk assessment activities
- Review and assist in the development of Safe Operating Procedures
- Contribute to the planning and execution of Safety Management System related projects
- Manage and support injury management and return to work processes and Workers’ Compensation matters
- Facilitate training on HSE matters
- Facilitate the NSW safety committee and their initiatives
- Participate and support national and APAC projects
- Monitor HSE compliance via audits and plans
We are looking for people:
- Tertiary qualified in HSE or similar
- ICAM qualified
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a HSE role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
- Experience with an industrial workforce and landscape, including unions and regulators
- Experience in supporting and coaching stakeholders on compliance with workplace health and safety standards
- Strong knowledge of HSE legislation
- Strong understanding of behavioural safety
- Strong understanding and application of a Safety Management System
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- High attention to detail, uses initiative and has the ability to work autonomously
