You will be responsible for delivering estimates and quotations on time as well as controlling the profitability of orders/acceptances.

About the role:
Knauf is seeking an experienced and passionate Estimator to join our contracting team based in Port Melbourne, VIC. Reporting to the Estimating Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering estimates and quotations on time as well as controlling the profitability of orders/acceptances.
Main duties include:
- Review requests for quotation (RFQ) and estimates, and prepare and issue quotes accordingly
- Review and process quantity take offs to ensure they are in line with purchase orders
- Follow up on quotes with builders
- Facilitate margin control and order acceptance process – ensure take-off accurately reflects customer orders
- Keep up-to-date with all quotation and delivery requests for the allocated customer portfolio
- Address customer enquiries/requests in a timely manner and direct inquiries to alternative personnel where appropriate
- Keep IT systems up-to-date with quotation and delivery progress for accurate reporting
- Liaise with take-off provider on estimating related matters and other duties as identified by the Manager Contracting Support Services
Skills/experience
- Estimating experience and ability to read building plans preferable
- Strong people skills and communication skills
- Enthusiastic team player seeking to be part of a challenging, vibrant and customer-focused culture
- Demonstrated ability to handle competing deadlines appropriately, effectively and accurately
- Disciplined, highly numerate, process orientated with a keen eye for detail
- Intermediate experience in Excel spreadsheets
- Personal drive and results-orientation
