About the role:
Knauf is seeking a passionate and reliable about to or has recently graduated candidate for its Graduate Development Engineer role. In this role you will be responsible for providing support within the national Engineering team across several areas for the business. This role will be based in Pinkenba, QLD.
The key purpose of the role is to provide technical/engineering services and support for Knauf across Australia. More specifically within R&D, new products & systems development, technical business development and technical service for a wide customer base including internal sales, marketing, manufacturing, contractors, builders, certifiers, engineers and architects.
Role responsibilities:
- Propose, plan and implement research and development programs to develop and improve construction systems, meeting identified market requirements for design performance
- Collaborate with functional teams to innovative and commercialise new products and systems from understanding customer & market needs, international developments, industry associations, and competitor activity
- To provide Engineering services to support internal and external customers for Australian business unit in relevant discipline
- Prepare fire, acoustic, structural and other test specifications and drawings for construction, co-ordinate testing & certification with internal and external laboratories
- Provide Engineering certification as required in the relevant discipline under IEAust accreditation
- To maintain and support Knauf’s laboratory accreditation activities and participate in annual audits with accreditation bodies.
Candidate requirements :
- A tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering discipline or a recent graduate with a similar qualification is required
- Up to 2 years experience in a similar role in a related industry (desirable but not essential)
- 4th year under-graduate (Civil/Structural Engineering) completing your penultimate year in 2023 are encouraged to apply.
- Qualify for accreditation to IEAust as a practicing Engineer
- Strong computing and numeric skills
- Strong personal competencies in project management and problem-solving skills
- An active listener with strong communication skills both written and verbal
