Procurement Officer

About the Role
Are you a skilled procurement professional with a passion for optimizing processes and driving efficiency? Join our dynamic team as a Procurement Officer and play a pivotal role in managing the Procure to Pay (P2P) process for imported materials on a national scale.
Based in Pinkenba, QLD & reporting to the Head of Procurement - ANZ, this role is integral to ensuring seamless procurement operations, effective supplier relationships, and efficient logistics coordination. You will work closely with internal teams such as Manufacturing, Trade, Logistics, Legal, Finance, and the Executive Committee, as well as external vendors, to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Procure to Pay (P2P) Process:
- Streamline and automate procurement processes to minimize costs and improve efficiency
- Convert requisitions to purchase orders in line with company policies
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
- Expedite purchase orders and resolve supplier invoice issues
- Communicate purchase order statuses and manage supplier relationships to meet business needs
Logistics Coordination:
- Oversee the collection and delivery of containers from the wharf to the point of consumption
- Collaborate with planning and customer service teams to meet customer demands
- Provide logistics analysis and reporting for imported goods
- Liaise with Customs and freight forwarding agents as required
Data Maintenance:
- Ensure the integrity of supplier, pricing, and material data
- Develop efficiency improvements to reduce manual data entry
- Communicate supplier pricing changes across the business
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
- Relevant CIPS certification(s)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills
- Analytical mindset with sound administration capabilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and modern ERP systems (preferably SAP)
