About You
Located in or near Pinkenba
Knowledge of Australian building systems, relevant codes, standards, testing frameworks and certification pathways.
Understanding of NATA accreditation requirements, laboratory governance and technical compliance principles.
Knowledge of product and systems development processes, technical documentation and industry engagement practices.
Strong track record of leading and building high performing teams
Ability to work from the Pinkenba site full time – This is not a Work from Home Role

A tertiary qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline, with possible post-graduate qualifications.
Professional engineering accreditation recognised in Australia, with Chartered status preferred or qualifications and experience sufficient to obtain it.

About the Role
As the Head of Engineering, you will have the responsibility for leading Knauf Australia’s R&D Engineering Services function, including technical solutions services, systems development, engineering support, architectural specification, certification activities, and the management of the NATA accredited fire and structures testing laboratory.
The role is accountable for the strategic direction, leadership and performance of the Engineering Services team to develop and improve wall and ceiling systems, support the market with technically robust solutions, strengthen external industry relationships, and ensure Knauf maintains a market-leading technical and innovation capability aligned with commercial objectives.
Some tasks as part of this role include:
Leadership and management of the R&D Engineering Services function in Australia
Management oversight of technical services, architectural specifications, engineering certification activities and R&D programs
Management of the NATA accredited fire and structures test laboratory, including compliance, capability development and governance
Company representative on technical, regulatory and industry committees as appropriate
Oversight of technical risk, engineering standards and development priorities in support of business strategy
